Seaford, DE – TidalHealth Nanticoke is pleased to announce that Shaymija Dowdell, CST, of the Surgical Specialties and Robotics Unit (SSRU), has been selected as its Sunshine Award recipient for November 2024.
Dowdell was recognized for her professionalism, kindness, and compassion. In nominating her, the wife of a patient said:
“Shaymija was so wonderful and kind. She provided my husband exceptional care, was extremely helpful with everything he needed, and she also asked me repeatedly if I needed anything. She made me feel comfortable, not like I was in the way, as she continuously smiled through her shift. Her smile is contagious! She just made his tough situation better by her upbeat personality! We are so grateful that she was his tech and super good at her job! She made his whole hospital environment better!

Dowdell was honored in a ceremony before her coworkers and presented with fresh flowers, a pin and a certificate recognizing her exceptional devotion to team and patient care.
