SALISBURY, MD – SHORE UP! Inc.’s Shady Pines Center is set to reopen Monday, Aug. 16. The center, located at 1929 Northwood Dr. in Salisbury, has been closed since March 2020 due to COVID-19.
An Adult Day Services Program operates at the Shady Pines Center, which offers daily care to individuals with disabilities, ages 16 and up, and the elderly. Licensed health care staff provide medical supervision. Activities are also planned for a fun, stimulating environment for participants.
Teresa Clagg, licensed practical nurse at Shady Pines, says staff have worked to ensure a safe environment for customers returning during the pandemic.
“All of our employees at Shady Pines, including licensed health care staff, kitchen staff and our Transportation employees, are mandated to either obtain the COVID-19 vaccine or submit to weekly testing,” says Clagg. “Customers and staff will be required to wear a mask in the center and while being transported to and from the center on agency vehicles.”
The Adult Day Services Program has been in operation since 1975 and serves residents of Somerset and Wicomico counties. The program offers an opportunity for caregivers to place their loved ones in a facility with well-trained, caring staff who will meet their needs. A day of activities also helps to reduce the isolation that the disabled and elderly can experience. SHORE UP! is currently accepting applications for customers.
