SACC’s leaders and dignitaries proudly joined on March 25 with Market Street Inn owner Rob Mulford and his team for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the restaurant’s 25th anniversary — a remarkable milestone for one of downtown Salisbury’s most beloved establishments.
Guests were welcomed by owner Rob Mulford and his dedicated team. During the ceremony, Mulford shared, “I could go on and on about the fascinating history of this place and how wonderful it has been to see everyone come together to make it work. After 25 years, a lot of new places and things have come and gone, but people still come back here. Days like today are a true testament to everyone who has supported Market Street Inn.”
A Salisbury State College (now Salisbury University) graduate, Mulford dreamed of owning the restaurant since his college days and fulfilled that dream in 2001. Under his leadership, Market Street Inn has continued its legacy as a welcoming destination with indoor and outdoor seating, exceptional service, and a reputation as a staple for dining and special gatherings in downtown Salisbury.
“Everything—good and bad—has helped make this place what it is. There’re no such thing as bad advertising or bad media; it’s what you make of it. I just want to thank everybody for coming out and supporting us over the years. Thank God for allowing me to be here, for my wife Emilia, and for everyone on our team—new, old, and previous—who have been so supportive. We’ve been through a lot, and God willing, we will remain standing for many more years to come!” said Mulford.
Citations recognizing this significant accomplishment were presented by Wicomico County Executive Julie Giordano, Wicomico County Council President John Cannon, City of Salisbury Randy Taylor, and the Secretary of the Maryland Department of Commerce.
The celebration featured your choice of libation and appetizers including fajita chicken, their famous crab dip, and passed hors d’oeuvres. Lucky door prize winners received gift cards to use at Market Street Inn.
