Eligibility Overview
Applicants must:
- Own a for-profit, independently owned small business
- Operate from a physical brick-and-mortar location
- Be located in one of the 50 U.S. states or Washington, DC
- Employ 20 or fewer full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
We are looking for project proposals that help small businesses grow, innovate, and strengthen their local communities.
Examples of Eligible Project Ideas:
- Capital improvements, physical or marketing upgrades, or new revenue-generating additions—with clear community benefits
- Creating or enhancing community-focused spaces inside or outside the business, such as a patio, performance area, gathering space, or hosting community-driven events
