Archives in the 21st Century- The Challenge of Preserving the Past

SALISBURY, MD—Salisbury University’s Edward H. Nabb Research Center is the foremost location for family and cultural history of the Eastern Shore over the past 350 years.

Working with the delicate items that tell that heritage, however, can be challenging.

Anne Turkos, University of Maryland archivist emerita, and Cynthia Byrd, executive director of the Julia A. Purnell Museum in Snow Hill, MD, participate in a panel discussion of “Archives of the 21st Century: The Challenge of Preserving the Past” 6 p.m. Thursday, September 19 in the Guerrieri Academic Commons Assembly Hall.

Their talk is held in conjunction with the exhibit “Out of the Box: The Archives of the Nabb Research Center,” continuing at the center’s G. Ray Thompson Gallery through Tuesday, December 17.
Admission is free and public is invited.
