SU Hosts Two Virtual Alumni Homecoming 5K Runs

SALISBURY, MD—As part of Alumni Homecoming Week, Salisbury University hosts the fifth annual “Run the Boards Like Rob” and inaugural “School of Social Work Homecoming” 5K runs.

     Due to COVID-19, both will be virtual events.

The Run the Boards Like Rob 5K is October 16-25, benefitting the Robert Schultheis Memorial Scholarship in memory of the alumnus and former president of the SU Alumni Association board of directors. Schultheis ‘00 was killed by in a vehicle accident while running in 2015.

     Cost for the Run the Boards Like Rob 5K is $50. Participants receive a digital race bib, which they may print and wear on their run. Afterward, participants receive a short-sleeve T-shirt and a sweatshirt in the mail.

     The School of Social Work Homecoming 5K is October 23-25, benefitting the Marvin G. Tossey Scholarship Fund for students in SU’s School of Social Work who face financial hardships. The fund is named in honor of the long-time SU social work faculty member and former department chair.

     Cost for the Social Work 5K is $30. Each additional registrant is $20, as runners are encouraged to invite family and friends to join. Participants will receive an SU School of Social Work face mask, mailed after the completion of the event.
