Support Choptank Electric’s Rural Broadband Initiative

We’ve heard you loud and clear – you want access to broadband. As your electric cooperative, we want to deliver that access.

Thanks for signing up to help get that message across to our elected officials in Annapolis.

In January, the members of the Eastern Shore delegation will introduce a bill to allow Choptank Electric Cooperative to become “member regulated,” like 83% of electric cooperatives across the United States. This will allow the Board of Directors you elected at Choptank Electric, rather than a regulatory body in Baltimore, to make the final decisions on rates and services. The Choptank Electric Board could deliver the services you, our members, want and need.

As part of the timeline to pass this bill, we are asking supporters to contact the Delegates and Senators from the Eastern Shore in December. Give them the constituent stories they need to convince the General Assembly to pass our bill. Let them know that access to Rural Broadband is essential to our families, small businesses, farmers, educators and healthcare providers.
