SVN Advisors Tonney Insley and Kelly Jeter joined the Transformational Community Leadership Program this year. The program is hosted by Greater Salisbury Committee (GSC) and Salisbury University’s Center for Extended and Lifelong Learning (CELL).
The eight-month series is designed for young professionals in Wicomico County to get exposure to key industries within the county that you may not have an opportunity to visit otherwise. The participants learn more about how they function then work to develop ideas as to how the systems may be improved.
Classes were held one Thursday per month and involved a trip to a local business and class time. The Wicomico Detention Center, local public elementary schools, Perdue Agribusiness, Wright’s Farm, Layton’s Chance Vineyard, and the Salisbury Airport were among sites visited. Tonney and Kelly “graduated” the course in October.

Kelly’s thoughts on the program were, “It allowed us to gain access to industries throughout the county, learn more about what makes local businesses tick, and what their pain points are. It was great to meet other young professionals in the community while becoming informed and learning how we could make a difference in our community.”
