SVN Miller Commercial Real Estate hosted their 14th Annual Commercial Real Estate Forum themed “Charting the Course.” The event was attended by professionals from various industries influenced by commercial real estate. The morning program included several keynote speakers and a panel discussion, which provided insights on how to overcome obstacles and turn them into opportunities in today’s changing market.
The event kicked off with a presentation by Wesley Cox, CCIM, Senior Advisor with SVN Miller which highlighted a year in review for the local CRE market. Jake Day, Secretary of Housing & Community Development for the State of Maryland, provided valuable insights on how the state is charting the course in housing and community development. The panel discussion, themed “Obstacle Vs. Opportunity,” featured industry experts, Monty Saylor, M&T Bank, Jim Hartstein, The Insurance Market, and Henry Hanna, Senior Advisor with SVN Miller. The panel was moderated by John McClellan, Senior Advisor at SVN Miller. Ryan Fortsch, Principal at Blackstone, took the stage to talk about Real Estate Product Strategy and Economist, Anirban Basu shared his insights on the current state of the economy and the opportunities that may lie ahead.
Due to scheduling conflicts during the planning process, this year’s event was moved to Oak Ridge Commons in the Oak Ridge Commons Shopping Center. Approximately 175 guests were welcomed into the modern state-of-the-art facility. Breakfast was catered by Faithful Concepts with Kellyns Café.
