Salisbury, MD — Associate Advisor Chelsye Phillips-Hutton of NAI Coastal was recently selected to join Salisbury Wicomico Economic Development (SWED)’s Board of Directors. As an organization, SWED works to enhance the socio-economic environment of Wicomico County through the preservation and creation of employment opportunities. The board of directors assists in the development and management of initiatives that serve to foster new growth and stability throughout our community and beyond.
“I am so appreciative of SWED’s consideration and am excited to work with their team and the board on important collaborative opportunities within our community,” said Phillips-Hutton. “I look forward to continuing development of my economic knowledge and how the decisions made in collaboration with SWED, the City of Salisbury, and Wicomico County impact the growth and opportunity within our local markets.”
Shortly after formal acceptance of this board position, Phillips-Hutton also announced her completion of the prestigious CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) Institute’s ‘Financial Analysis for Commercial Investment Real Estate’ course (CI 101). The intensive program covered a broad range of key financial concepts used to analyze and compare commercial real estate investments. Upon completion, Phillips-Hutton gained a comprehensive understanding of the ‘CCIM Cash Flow Model’ in relation to the quantification of investment return.
The CI 101 course is a bedrock class for real estate practitioners and the first in a series of coursework required to earn the CCIM designation. Designees are widely recognized as leading experts in relation to commercial investments and are known for their unique ability to help clients minimize risk through informed decision making. When paired with her recent board appointment, this knowledge and understanding has potential to supplement and steer economic development initiatives that serve to attract business owners and investors to the Wicomico County region.
