SALISBURY, MD (April 19, 2021) – Salisbury-Wicomico Economic Development, Inc. (SWED) announced today that with funding from the State of Maryland, it will offer four new Marketing and Recovery Grant Fund programs. As directed by the State of Maryland, new programs target restaurants, hotels, nonprofits and certain businesses wishing to establish or enhance online sales platforms. Funds for restaurants, hotels and the online sales initiative will open on Thursday, April 22, 2021 by 9:00 am and close Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 4:00 pm. SWED’s Nonprofit Marketing and Recovery Grant Fund has a targeted opening of May 3, 2021.
The primary use of these funds is for marketing and advertising purposes as businesses and nonprofits continue to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. More information and applications can be found at www.swed.org.
Beginning in the early summer of 2020 and with funding from the Coronavirus Relief Fund and the State of Maryland, SWED has deployed in excess of $12.8 million for small businesses in Wicomico County to help mitigate the economic impact COVID-19 has had on our community.
