Salisbury, MD – City of Salisbury staff took home several Stars of Salisbury readers’ choice awards this week.
The Stars of Salisbury Awards are organized by the Salisbury Independent and its parent company, Independent News Media. A celebratory dinner was held at the Wicomico Civic Center on Thursday, Sept. 28.
The Salisbury Zoo won awards for Favorite Landmark and Favorite Park, and the attraction also received a second-place honor for Favorite Place for Day Trip. The Maryland Folk Festival was awarded Best Event/Fair/Festival.
Salisbury Police Department’s Pfc. A. Gutierrez earned the Star Police Officer honor.
“We know the City of Salisbury has a lot to celebrate, but it’s great to see that members of our community agree,” said Mayor Jack Heath.
