On July 17, 2018, the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting with the Maryland and Delaware Group of Long & Foster to celebrate their new facility and continued success since their inception. Lead by Brandon Brittingham, the group consists of over 30 real estate agents.

Brittingham gave a brief but warm thanks to all who attended as well as his partners in the venture.

“I want to thank you all for coming out,” he said, “One of the things that was important to us when we expanded, was that we wanted to be in the city. Thanks to the Devreco boys, Chris, Joey, Brad, their whole team, and Hebron Savings Bank, for helping us get this building. A year ago we were kind of nervous because it was a big space, and now we’re running out of room.”

The building itself is close to 40,000 square feet. He commented on encouragement he had received during the transition process from his former office space.

“One of the great things about Salisbury and why we wanted to be in the city, is the support that we’ve gotten from the community and the support we get from all of our business leaders as they’ve helped support us grow. We’re really excited about our new facility and glad you guys are here to share the ribbon cutting with us.”

Wicomico County President John Cannon was on hand to give his personal congratulations.

“It’s really amazing, the responsibility that you’ve taken on to bring all these people together; it’s fantastic. We worry about economic development all the time in Wicomico County, and you’re sort of you own economic development team, so we’re glad to have you.”

“If you look at my old business cards, I had a head full of hair,” Brittingham joked.

In 2017, the Maryland and Delaware Group of Long & Foster increased their sales by 23 percent, garnering over $106 million in 460 real estate transactions.

“What you’ve done is absolutely incredible; everything you’re doing is truly warranted, and this is proof of that,” Cannon said, “The Gillis Gilkerson boys are going to have to get your a space two or three times the size you have now.”

Senator Jim Mathias presented Brittingham with an official Maryland Senate Citation commemorating his achievement, and City of Salisbury Mayor Jake Day spoke about the positive influence businesses like his were providing to the area.

“Brandon and his team are the very definition of entrepreneurs. They are creative, nimble, customer-focused, and not afraid to walk out onto a ledge to create new opportunity,” Day said. “They are giving back just as fast as they are growing jobs and opportunity. I’m proud to say they are Salisburians and friends.”
