The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce and Chesapeake Utilities presented the Lower Shore Legislative Delegation on Thursday, April 21 for the annual 2022 MD General Assembly Post Legislative Session Forum at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center.

More than eighty regional business and organizational leaders heard from the members of the Delegation their report card on legislation that impacted the business community from the recently-completed session.

Topics the Senators and Delegates addressed included the new Paid Family Medical Leave payroll tax, the housing shortage, Maryland’s gas tax, how to replace those revenues with the push toward electric vehicles, and how to address the rapidly changing needs of the agriculture industries across the state.

Zach Evans, Mountaire Farms Community Relations Manager, SACC Board and Executive Committee member moderated the event.

The SACC would like to thank the entire Lower Shore Delegation, the presenting sponsor, Chesapeake Utilities and sponsor Coastal Association of REALTORS.

The Delegation will gather together again on December 2, 2022 at Salisbury University as a forum during the 2023 Southern Delmarva Economic Forecast to address business concerns as the 2023 General Assembly Session will be just weeks away from commencing in Annapolis.
