Salisbury, MD — As part of TidalHealth’s ongoing commitment to patient and campus safety, TidalHealth Peninsula Regional will implement a new visitor management system effective March 23, 2026. Under the system, all visitors entering through the Frank B. Hanna Main Entrance or the Guerrieri Heart & Vascular Institute entrance must check in at the welcome desk and obtain a visitor badge, which must be displayed at all times.

The system adds an extra layer of protection for patients, visitors and team members by ensuring visitors acknowledge and agree to follow important safety and conduct standards. The system is already in use at TidalHealth Atlantic and TidalHealth Nanticoke.

During check-in, visitors must sign an acknowledgment agreeing to a no-weapons policy; to refrain from illegal activity and verbal or physical abuse; and to refrain from video or audio recording unless prior written approval has been granted by TidalHealth. Visitors who do not agree to these terms will be denied entry.

Patients arriving for a procedure are not required to register with the visitor management system. However, anyone accompanying a patient must register and display a visitor badge.

“Protecting our patients, families and team members is a top priority,” said Steve Leonard, Ph.D., MBA, FACHE, president and CEO of TidalHealth. “This visitor management system helps create a safer and more respectful environment by ensuring everyone who enters TidalHealth Peninsula Regional understands and agrees to follow the rules that help keep our hospital secure.”
