Salisbury & Seaford – Join TidalHealth for events dedicated to raising breast cancer awareness and fostering a sense of empowerment within our communities.
TidalHealth will host two community breast cancer awareness events in Salisbury, Md. (Oct. 1, 2024) and Seaford, Del. (Oct. 3, 2024) from 5 to 6:30 p.m. each evening. The Salisbury event will begin at the Richard A. Henson Cancer Institute at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional with a short walk to The Giving House where the festivities will be conducted. The Seaford event will begin at TidalHealth’s Allen Cancer Center with a short walk to Gateway Park where the festivities will be conducted.
Breast cancer affects millions of lives every year, touching families, friends, and individuals across the globe and here on the Delmarva Peninsula. 300,000 women in the United States will be told this year that they have breast cancer. It is the second leading cancer killer next to lung cancer of wives, mothers, grandmothers and all women.
TidalHealth’s community breast cancer awareness events bring attention to the importance of early detection, prevention and support for those battling cancer. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with local cancer experts in the field and access valuable resources.
Both events are open to individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Whether you’re a current breast cancer warrior, survivor, caregiver/family member, or simply someone interested in learning more about breast cancer, this event offers a platform for education, engagement and empowerment.
Free parking will be provided at each location. The events will culminate with TidalHealth’s Salisbury and Seaford cancer centers being lit in pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
Additionally, the TidalHealth Foundation is raising funds for a state-of-the-art mobile mammography unit to address the alarming rise in breast cancer diagnoses on Delmarva. Learn more about the Drive for Mobile Mammography at tidalhealth.org/mobilemammo.
