The aromas of Indian spices blended with a bold Mexican twist filled the air on May 28 as Twist Indian Grill celebrated its opening in Salisbury with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Located conveniently across from Salisbury University, Twist Indian Grill introduces a unique Indian street food fusion concept, offering a fast-casual dining experience unlike any other in the area.
The grand opening event, co-hosted by the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, welcomed local leaders, business owners, and enthusiastic food lovers eager to get their first taste of the restaurant’s innovative menu. Guests enjoyed complimentary samples of Vegetable Samosas, Gulab Jamun, and Mango Lassi, a traditional Indian yogurt-based beverage with a smoothie-like consistency.
Behind this exciting new venture are co-founders Priyank, Priyanka, Maulin, and Pratiksha Patel, who bring their deep love for Indian cuisine to life in an unexpected and delightful way. The menu features Indian burritos packed with rich curries and aromatic spices, hearty rice bowls topped with tender meats and fresh ingredients, and a variety of Indian-Mexican fusion dishes designed to surprise and satisfy every palate.
“I have been in Salisbury for 28 years, graduated from high school and college here, and it’s always been my dream to open a restaurant in this city,” said Priyank “Paul” Patel, owner of Twist Indian Grill in Salisbury. “Thankfully, my brother-in-law shared the same vision, took culinary courses for two years, and opened the first Twist Indian in Ohio. I then brought the concept to Milford, DE, and now, to Salisbury. The support from the community has been incredible, and being across from Salisbury University feels like the perfect spot for this venture.”
Guests at the event were treated to a tour of the restaurant, an opportunity to meet the owners, and door prizes that included gift cards for future dining experiences.
