Vance receives TidalHealth’s 2024 Monarch of the Year Award

Monarch of the Year Award

SALISBURY — During TidalHealth’s Phlebotomy Appreciation Week celebrations from Feb. 10-14, 2025, the Laboratory team presented the health system’s inaugural Monarch of the Year Award to Sarah Vance, Inpatient Phlebotomist at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional.

Vance was honored for her dedication, compassion, and commitment to providing exceptional care to our patients and superior service excellence. She is an integral part of the lab phlebotomy training program. “She is patient, kind, and answers all of my questions even though she has answered them five thousand times before,” stated Morgan Prati, a Medical Laboratory Science student from Salisbury University.

Vance’s co-workers always appreciate when she is working as she is the first to arrive on the floor and the last to leave. No matter what team needs help, she is always there to help. Patients have repeatedly recognized her for being very professional and courteous. One patient stated: “She didn’t miss, not even once, and that was impressive as I am always a difficult stick.” Another patient stated that even though she was dehydrated, Vance handled it professionally.

Vance provides exceptional service daily and always puts patient safety first. She has taken steps in the past to ensure that patients have whatever they need, whether it is a visit from environmental services or facilities to fix a broken light in their room.

TidalHealth appreciates Vance and all of our phlebotomists who provide exceptional care to our patients throughout our health system.
