Someone was watching over us with a sunny day on June 20th because we joined Vernon Powell Shoes to celebrate their brand new solar field! Joe Wright, along with members of the family and staff were proud to talk about the installation and actual immediate savings that they are experiencing with this change. It was noted that, though the economics of it made sense, they were also driven by the shrinking of their carbon footprint. VP Shoes has made other changes to their business model to continue to support the environment. As a fun competition, employees were challenged to build a sculpture out of recycled materials within the store and attendees were encouraged to vote for their favorite.
