The Governor’s Office of Small, Minority & Women Business Affairs is offering two great webinars in June for veterans and military spouse small business owners.

Federal & State Veteran Small Business Program Overview
Tuesday June 7, 2022
10 a.m. – 11:30 am

Would you like to learn more about Veteran Small Business Programs? Join us for an overview and updates of both federal and state programs for the veteran entrepreneur community. At the federal level, the U.S Small Business Administration’s Office of Veterans Business Development (OVBD) is devoted exclusively to promoting veteran entrepreneurship. The OVBD facilitates the use of all SBA programs by veterans, service-disabled veterans, reservists, active-duty service members, transitioning service members, and their dependents or survivors. At the state level, Maryland’s Veteran-Owned Small Business Enterprise (VSBE) Program helps to provide contracting opportunities on state-funded procurements across 52 departments/agencies. Through the Governor’s Office of Small, Minority & Women Business Affairs vendors can connect to various resources to navigate the state procurement process and compete with greater confidence.
Who should attend? Veteran entrepreneurs and veteran-owned businesses interested in learning more about both federal and state programs that can help them enter and succeed in the government contracting arena.

Women Veteran & Military Spouse Owned Small Business Resources
Tuesday, June 14, 2022
9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Join the U.S. Small Business Administration, Maryland’s Veteran-Owned Small Business Enterprise (VSBE) Program, and the W.O.M.E.N. Platform under the Morgan State University Entrepreneurial Development and Assistance Center for a robust discussion of the resources available through federal, state, and private partners.
We will provide unique resources for women-owned small businesses, veteran-owned small businesses, and small businesses owned by military spouses. Together, we will explore helping women entrepreneurs launch new businesses and compete in the federal/state/private marketplace through training, counseling, and procurement certification programs.
You’ll hear the first-hand experiences of how these programs and services impacted our keynote speaker, who served seven years in the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and was elected as the first woman veteran officer on the Veteran Entrepreneurship Task Force (VET-Force) Committee, Laurie Sayles, President & CEO of Civility Management Solutions.
Who should attend? Women veteran entrepreneurs and business owners interested in learning more about federal, state, and private sector programs that can help them thrive and succeed.
