Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County (HFHWC) continued its support of veterans by holding a crab feast fundraiser in partnership with VFW Meuse Post 194 on Saturday, September 20, 2025. The VFW rallied its support base to fill tables with crab enthusiasts and managed a bustling kitchen; dishing out crabs, burgers, hot dogs, and sides. VFW 194 Commander Roy Vaughn presented a check for the proceeds in the amount of $6,750 to HFHWC Community Outreach Coordinator Karen Cooper.
HFHWC expressed its special thanks to Jack Lewis of VFW Post 194 and their hardworking volunteer team for their dedication and effort making this event possible. “Wicomico Habitat is committed to building for and honoring those in our community who serve or have served, and their families. Partners like VFW 194 help amplify our mission and give us leverage to reach more veterans and their families with affordable homeownership, critical repairs, and aging in place modifications. We are truly grateful for their support,” said Cooper.
