Last fall, the City of Salisbury and Wicomico County’s “Stash Your Trash” program challenged area residents to try their hands at making heron sculptures out of recycled materials. This year, Stash Your Trash is issuing another challenge: Create a crab out of recycled materials.
This year’s entrants will bring their completed sculptures to the Salisbury Arts & Entertainment District’s October 16th 3rd Friday celebration, scheduled from 5-8 p.m. on the Downtown Plaza. The public is encouraged to stop by and vote on their favorite crab which will become the 2016 SYT Ambassador. Please stop by and cast your vote!
“We were pleased to host 13 heron sculpture entrants but very excited that this year we’ve given out close to 40 crab sculpture forms, so 3rd Friday showing should be quite an extravaganza,” said Bill Nelson, SACC Beautification Committee Member.
Teams include primary, middle and high school groups, girl scout troops, SU students, the MAC Center, Maryland Food Bank and the Ward Museum, among others.
