Wicomico Councilwoman Nicole Acle to Serve on Human Services and Education Policy Committee

Wicomico County Councilwoman Nicole Acle, District 2 Representative, was recently selected by the National Association of Counties (NACO) to serve as a member of the Human Services and Education Policy Committee.

As a member of the Human Services and Education Policy Committee, Councilwoman Nicole Acle will focus on all matters pertaining to children’s issues, foster care, public assistance and income support, services to senior citizens and individuals with disability, immigration policy, social services and elementary, secondary, and post-secondary education.

Councilwoman Acle was appointed to the Wicomico County Council representing District 2 in July 2019. Mrs. Acle is a Registered Dietitian/Licensed Dietitian and business owner of MNT (Medical Nutrition Therapies), LLC, a medical consulting business, Graceful Magnolia, LLC, a vacation rental management company and is the co-owner of a medical practice with her husband Dr. Fernando Acle. She currently serves as President on the Executive Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity and Vice President to Parents Place of Maryland. She was appointed by Governor Hogan to the Maryland Assistive Technology Advisory Committee in 2018.

She volunteers for the Mensa Affiliate for Gifted & Talented Youth Eastern Shore of Maryland in addition to serving as the Eastern Shore at Large Representative for the Maryland Coalition of Gifted and Talented Education. Acle was trained in leadership for Disability Rights and Advocacy and has also received the Governor of Maryland’s “Award for Volunteer Service” as well as the 2020 President’s Volunteer Service Award.
