Salisbury, MD — The Wicomico County Education Foundation hosted its first annual Golf Tournament on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Green Hill Country Club, bringing together 21 teams and 84 players for a day of friendly competition — all for a great cause.

Proceeds from the event — totaling just over $16,000 — will go directly toward supporting middle school athletics across Wicomico County, helping ensure students have access to the physical, social, and teamwork benefits that sports provide.

The money raised from the golf tournament will go a long way in helping the WCPS middle school sports program to:

  • Strengthen and enhance the current middle school sports offerings
  • Increase the number of games that schools can play each season
  • Purchase needed equipment at middle school sites

“We’re thrilled with the success of our first tournament,” said Michelle Wright, WCEF Board Chair. “The enthusiasm and generosity from the players, sponsors, and community partners made it clear how much our community values supporting student opportunities beyond the classroom.”
