Salisbury, MD – Last Saturday, March 23, Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County held their first “Kitchens for Kitchens Pickleball Tournament” fundraiser. The tournament took place at Crown Sports Center in Fruitland, MD with 60 players of various ages and skill levels participating.
HFHWC thanks its generous tournament sponsors; Kitchen Concepts Plus, Inc., Delmarva Pickleball, and Motorola Solutions, Inc. A second thank you is extended to all players and spectators for supporting Wicomico Habitat’s mission of building affordable homes in Wicomico County.
Players who took home gold were Valerie Lawrence and Nikki Havas, Rodney Beebe and Hal Chernoff, Binh Phan and Jeffery Murphy, Erin Monahan and Diona Mendoza, and Christine Dorman and Susan Merriken. Silver-winning players were Lucas Pusey and Thomas Pusey, Eric Oliver and Agostino Schito, Paul Willey and Ivan Cortez, Kim Bozman and Mandy Schuyler, and Deborah Bloodsworth and Roxana Walker-Canton. Players who won bronze were Rebecca Procita and Tim Procita, Jeremy Michalski and Brent Rhodes, Ben Fink and Trevor Johnson, Amber Goldstein and Dawn Sewalt, and Carolyn Payne and Nancy Chernoff.
Proceeds from this event go directly to Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County to support affordable homeownership and critical home repairs/aging in place programs in Wicomico and Somerset Counties.
