
Salisbury, MD — Wicomico County Recreation & Parks invites offers several ways to stay active this season with programs including the Wicomico Youth Basketball League, drop-in pickleball, the Turkey Trek 5K, karate classes and the Eastern Shore Elite Volleyball Academy instructional program.
The Wicomico Youth Basketball League (WYBL) is a coed league for grades K–8 focusing on skill development and fundamentals. League play runs Jan. 5–late February, at Bennett Middle School and the Wicomico Civic Center. Registration is open now through Dec. 8.
Drop-in pickleball is open to all ages and runs Nov. 18–March 6 on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:45–8:45 p.m. at Salisbury Middle School.
Kick off Thanksgiving Day with the Turkey Trek 5K on Thursday, Nov. 27, at Pemberton Park. Check-in begins at 7 a.m., and the race starts at 8 a.m. Pre-registration is open through Nov. 14. On-site registration will also be available the day of the event.
Karate with Sensei David Doran offers a disciplined, confidence-building experience for ages 6–18+. Classes begin the first week of each month at the Wicomico Civic Center. Registration is open on a rolling basis, as space allows.
The Eastern Shore Elite Volleyball Academy instructional program (ESEVA) provides a fun, non-competitive environment for boys and girls in grades K–12 to build volleyball skills and confidence. Sessions run Jan. 6–Feb. 10, on Tuesday nights at Bennett Middle School.
Registration is open now through Jan 6.
