The Wicomico River and Stash Your Trash Clean Up efforts took to streets and the river in our community over the weekend of April 9th. The Wicomico River Clean up had 22 people in attendance amassing over 15 bags of trash. They also removed a broken recliner and wooden chair.
As for the Stash Your Trash Clean Up earlier in the day, they reached 10 after school programs this year with a discussion of the need for environmental stewardship and more particularly the importance of anti-littering initiatives. Each 
program sponsored a clean-up at their school site. A big thank you to Parkside CTE Horticulture program, WiMiddle WISE, Bennett Middle Project MOVE, GEMS, Salisbury Middle, Salisbury Urban Ministries, Fruitland Community Center, Hazel Center Salvation Army and SU ASAPS. Also to the community sponsors of teams, thank you to City of Salisbury Office of the Mayor, MAC Center, JMB JV Lacrosse team, WiHi Cheerleaders, Chesapeake Tours and SU Environmental Studies Dept. In the end nearly 50 bags of trash were collected from various city locations!
