Eighteen Wicomico County middle and high school students spent a day touring the community on the Optimist Club of Salisbury’s annual Youth Appreciation Day, held during Optimist International’s Youth Appreciation Week.
School administrators selected students for this Nov. 18 community tour based on accomplishments and activities, and they spent the day exploring the community through visits to the Salisbury Fire Department, Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office, Wicomico County 911 Dispatch Center, and the Maryland State Police Aviation Unit. The Youth Appreciation Day culminated in an evening banquet at Salisbury University.
