The public is invited to join the Wiersberg Warriors Foundation on Saturday, May 10, at the Tony Tank Redmen’s in Fruitland, MD, for our 4th annual chicken barbecue.  Meals are $10, and sales start at 10:00 a.m.

Wiersberg Warriors is a 501(c)3 founded in 2022 in honor of Fruitland Officer Spencer Wiersberg. Spencer’s End of Watch came on January 12, 2020, when he passed away from Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare childhood cancer. Wiersberg Warriors holds all fundraising in Fruitland, where Spencer served and protected.

Your support is invaluable to us as we continue his mission, for 100% of your donation stays here on the shore, helping other young adults.

Funds raised through Wiersberg Warriors has supported people such as Joshua Alton, our first warrior. Joshua also fought Ewing’s Sarcoma. He was a tennis shoe and watch aficionado, so we were honored to add to his collections to lift his spirits. Warrior Jacob, a local tennis player battling leukemia,  recently received a tennis racquet and equipment from us to give him hope on his journey.

Providing financial support is also a large part of our mission. Several of our warriors had just started out their married lives when one of them was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. One such couple is Chris and Krisa Dorsey. Chris was diagnosed at age 27 with colon cancer. Krista became his full-time caregiver when he could no longer work due to treatment.

Another of our warriors is currently battling lung cancer, and his wife has remained by his side during his months-long hospitalization.

We have assisted young mothers who have fought lymphoma or undergone open heart surgery while raising small children.

Finally, we also support our warriors emotionally. We have visited their homes, attended their fundraisers, grown close to them and their families, and been honored to be present at their weddings and funerals.

We do all this in Spencer’s honor and memory, for No One Fights Alone in our world.

100% of donations stay on the Eastern Shore, supporting young adults battling cancer or other serious illnesses or injuries. Wiersberg Warriors in a 501(c)3 established in honor of Fruitland Police OFC Spencer Wiersberg.

Please join us for the 4th Annual Chicken BBQ Dinner as we strive to remind these other young warriors that No One Fights Alone.
