Both WBC locations will provide technical assistance to women entrepreneurs through counseling, classroom and virtual trainings and, mentorship though local women entrepreneurs. The WBCs will also offer loan funds for women looking to start or grow their businesses. Our goal is to empower these women to grow their businesses, create jobs and generate wealth. The MCE WBC’s activities are designed to produce a substantial positive economic impact in the communities we serve, with successful business start-ups, job creation and retention as well as increased company revenues and growth.

Lisa Twilley of Salisbury is the Director of the Women’s Business Center (WBC). Director Lisa Twilley stated, “We are so very thankful for the funding provided by the SBA. This funding will allow MCE to not only continue our services, but also expand them to provide women with much more needed assistance. This is especially important as we begin to emerge from the COVID-19 Pandemic and into a new economy. The resources provided by the SBA grant will help Maryland’s women entrepreneurs reach their dreams of owning their own small business and we are excited to be able to help them along the way.”
