Adults who would like to complete their Maryland high school diploma may attend new walk-in intake and information sessions, which will be held on the second Tuesday of every month from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Fulton-Owen Hall, room 200, at Wor-Wic Community College.
Wor-Wic offers help on two pathways to a Maryland high school diploma. GED test preparation is available for people who are at least 18 years old, are not enrolled in high school and are residents of Wicomico County. The classes and practice testing at Wor-Wic are free, but the GED exams are not administered or scheduled by Wor-Wic and do have fees.
The National External Diploma Program (NEDP) is an alternate, self-paced, independent route to a diploma in which students build a portfolio on computer, rather than taking a test. The adult education program offers the NEDP to those who are at least 18 years old and live in Wicomico, Worcester or Somerset counties. The program cost is $150.
The intake and information sessions will be held on July 14, Aug. 11, Sept. 8, Oct. 13, Nov. 10 and Dec. 8. Contact adulteducation@worwic.edu for more information or call or text 443-669-6373.
