SALISBURY, MD — The Mayor’s Office has received a couple of inquiries from residents who were concerned about digging in their neighborhood, which turned out to be connected to the running of Fiber Optic Cable throughout the Salisbury metro area by Glo Fiber.
Glo, which is part of Shenandoah Telecommunications Company, signed an agreement with the City of Salisbury in 2022 to provide more than 11,000 homes with an alternative to Comcast for television and high-speed internet services. In March of 2022, Glo announced the deal publicly.
Work began in 2023 and was expected to last for 18 to 24 months. In March of 2024, Glo began marketing services in select areas of Salisbury where work had already taken place. They will continue to work their way around the City.
