Maryland Small Business Retirement Savings Program

Complete Survey to Better Serve Small Business Community

Maryland$aves is a new low-cost, hassle-free service for businesses that do not currently offer a retirement plan. The Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation (SDAT) has partnered with the Maryland Small Business Retirement Savings Program (Maryland$aves) and The Pew Charitable Trusts (Pew), a non-partisan, non-profit research organization, to distribute an important survey to collect feedback from Maryland’s small business community. The survey will provide input about the potential advantages and disadvantages of participating in a retirement savings program.

You will receive an email in the next few days with a link to the survey. Please take a few minutes to respond as your input is important. The data collected from the survey will allow improvements to the program and enhance the incentives for thousands of businesses and their employees to participate. Please keep a lookout for our next email with the survey link!

Upon completion of this survey, Pew will send a $10 e-gift card to participants.

This e-gift card incentive offer is authorized, administered and fulfilled solely by The Pew Charitable Trusts, a private survey company that has no association with the State of Maryland. Pew is wholly responsible for determining eligibility. SDAT merely acts in an informative capacity by including information about Pew’s e-gift card incentive offer and does not endorse any privately offered incentive program, nor does it assume any liability whatsoever for fulfilling the terms of such offer.

Participation is voluntary, survey responses are undisclosed to the public, and responses are not linked to any organization. Survey results will only be reported at the aggregate level.
The Maryland$aves program is overseen by the Maryland Small Business Retirement Savings Program Board. The board members include the Maryland State Treasurer, the Secretary of Labor, Licensing, & Regulation, and 3 members each appointed by the Governor, the President of the Senate, and the Speaker of the House of Delegates.

The Maryland$aves program is expected to launch in early 2020.
