SALISBURY, Md. – Wicomico County Recreation & Parks’ Youth Fishing Derby, a longtime tradition, will continue as a virtual event this year.
The event will be held virtually because of COVID-19 restrictions. Children ages 15 and under can take part in the free event from any location from June 6-13. Participants should practice social distancing and limit gatherings to 10 people or less.
Boys and girls can compete in the categories of Most Fish Caught in a Single Day, Most Unusual Catch and Longest Fish. Entrants will need to submit a completed entry form, photo of the fish next to the printable measuring page and a photo of the child with his or her catch to Jamie Nichols at jnichols@wicomicocounty.org.
Each winner will receive a $10 DICK’s Sporting Goods gift certificate, and winners’ names and photos will be posted on social media.
