On behalf of the Census Complete Count Committee of Wicomico County, Salisbury, Maryland to support our efforts of a complete and accurate count for 2020, and to meet our goal of100% participation we are asking for your support.
The census provides critical data that business owners, and many others use to provide daily services, products, and support for you and your community. Every year, billions of dollars in federal funding go to hospitals, fire departments, schools, roads, and other resources based on census data. Every Marylander not counted will cost the state $18,250 over a ten year period! Census partners, such as yourself are vital to ensuring a complete and accurate count. As trusted voices in your communities, you play a key role in raising awareness that the 2020 Census is easy, safe, and important.
As a main source of employment and career opportunities for an undercounted population of residents on the Eastern Shore, we are asking for your support and commitment to help promote the 2020 census to all of your staff and employees. There are various ways in which your business can provide support that may include but not limited to the following: Promote the census to your customers in person or on your website/social media, as well as provide opportunities for employees and staff to complete paper based and electronic/digital census forms.
We need everyone to participate in 2020 Census for the betterment of our county, state and our world. The 2020 census is a vital part of building a strong community and we need business leaders’ support. We thank you for your support and commitment to a stronger community.
