Travel to Island Creamery – Just Named the Country’s Best Ice Cream Shop!
WHAT- The 4th Annual Jason’s Ice Cream Motorcycle Ride benefitting The Salisbury Zoo will vroom out of the Zoo’s main parking lot on Sunday, August 9th, traveling to Island Creamery in Chincoteague, Va. for an afternoon of cool breezes and cold ice cream.
WHY- Created by Jason Tarpley in 2010 as a Bar Mitzvah project, Jason’s Zoo Ride has raised more than $2,700 for the Salisbury Zoo’s new, state of the art Animal Health Clinic. Money raised from registration and donations will continue to benefit the facility, which opened this year.
WHERE- Starts at the East Gate of the Salisbury Zoo on Memorial Drive, Salisbury MD 21802.
The ride’s destination, Island Creamery, was just named the nation’s “Best Ice Cream Shop” by TripAdvisor. Flavors such as Cake Batter and Cantaloupe, Java Jolt and Salty Caramel (and of course, Vanilla and Chocolate and about 20 more) keep fans coming back. Homemade waffle cones and a toppings bar just add to the fun.
WHEN- Saturday, August 9 – Registration opens at 9:00am; ride rolls out at 10:30am.
