SVN | Miller Commercial Real Estate recently held their 2018 Commercial Real Estate Forum at the Guerrieri Academic Commons at Salisbury University. The forum was focused on providing relevant information to commercial real estate investors regarding economics, community development and market statistics.
The event drew nearly 250 commercial real estate investors, and was sponsored by Devreco, M&T Bank, Twilley, Rommel & Stephens, The Bank of Delmarva, Paradise Energy Solutions, Fisher Architecture, Mid-Atlantic Farm Credit, Coastal Association of Realtors, Worcester County Economic Development, and Avery Hall Insurance. The forum featured Guest Speaker Jake Day, Mayor of the City of Salisbury, and Keynote Speaker Anirban Basu of Sage Policy Group. The event also included a Commercial Real Estate Experts panel moderated by Tonney Insley, with Industrial Specialist Henry Hanna, CCIM, SIOR, Retail Specialist John McClellan, CCIM and Development Specialist Bradley Gillis, CCIM.
Keynote speaker Anirban Basu returned to the forum for the seventh year and said, “Salisbury is the most important commercial center on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. It is therefore always a treat to speak about economic conditions there and to speculate upon the outlook. The near-term economic outlook for the Salisbury area is as positive as it has been in years.”
Wesley Cox, CCIM, Senior Advisor and Moderator of the event said, “We continue to be in a good commercial real estate market here on the Lower Shore and Delaware and there has not been a better time to sell (in the last decade) before rising interest rates start to have an effect on valuations and other economic and/or political events occur.”
