Life Crisis Center Moves to New Location

Life Crisis 2

SALISBURY, MD – August 4, 2022   LCC is opening new doors for two programs they offer.  The Lower Shore Family Visitation Center — serving families in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties – has relocated to a newer, easily accessible space to better serve the community.   The center’s goal is to offer a safe environment where families in transition can continue to maintain and rebuild healthy relationships.  Last year they assisted 45 families with reoccurring visitation services.

The Legal Services and Advocacy Program can provide legal representation for eligible victims of intimate partner violence, legal advocacy in protective order hearings and emergency room accompaniment for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and rape.  The program assisted 377 individual victims with assuring their safety.

While these programs are not new to the community, they are a definite necessity for the Lower Shore.  The recent expansion of other programs under the Life Crisis Center increased the need for the new location to best serve the individuals and families. The goal is to resume offering parenting classes, and continue to offer the abuser intervention program and other support groups in this extra space.

Life Crisis Center’s mission is to improve the quality of life in our community through crisis intervention and violence prevention.  Executive Director, Jamie Manning says, “Our team has been holding true to our mission for over 46 years. We’ve evolved with the changes in the community and the needs have increased in complexity and demand. We offer many services free to victims and rely on grants and community support to keep sustaining the quality of our services.”
