The University of Maryland Eastern Shore and The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce cordially invite you to join us on Thursday, November 13, 2025, for A Salute to Our Veterans Dinner. This special evening will celebrate and honor the military men and women who have bravely served our nation, while also benefiting the Silver Star Scholarship Fund at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES).
The Silver Star Scholarship Fund was established to recognize the many UMES students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends who have served in our armed forces. The scholarship provides support to honorably discharged veterans of the United States military, children of veterans, or children of service members killed in action. Priority is given to incoming freshmen and transfer students pursuing their first undergraduate degree at UMES.
As in past years, this year’s dinner will take place in the Richard A. Henson Conference Center Ballroom. Our talented Hotel, Restaurant & Tourism Management students will prepare and serve the evening’s meal. The celebration will begin with a cocktail reception at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m. We are especially honored to welcome Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown as our distinguished guest speaker, delivering the Veterans Day address.
Military Formal Attire is encouraged for service personnel, while business attire is appropriate for all other guests.
