Wor-Wic Community College has added a dean position to oversee science, technology, engineering and mathematics programs at the college, and appointed Dr. Stacey J. Hall to fill the role. Hall has worked at Wor-Wic since 2007, when she began as a part-time instructor of biological science. She became a full-time assistant professor in 2012, and in 2014 began serving as department head of math and science.
Under Hall’s leadership, the college launched the biology transfer degree, which has since become part of the expanded STEM transfer associate of science program with concentrations in biology, chemistry, chemistry pre-pharmacy, data science, engineering, math, mechatronics and physics. She also guided the creation of the STEM honors program, offering students undergraduate research experiences in collaboration with faculty mentors. She will also oversee computer studies and applied technologies credit programs.
Hall received her bachelor and master of science degrees from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg and her doctorate from the University of Missouri in Columbia.
