Salisbury, MD – Downtown Salisbury will come alive this Friday, October 17, for the monthly 3rd Friday celebration, with this month’s theme centered around “Weird Science.”
Join us for “Weird Science”, a theme that invites families and curious minds to explore hands-on experiments and creative science activities led by local “mad scientists” from Minds in Motion Children’s Museum, Delmarva Discovery Museum, Salisbury University, and The Night Watch Childcare. Guests can make slime, create oobleck, extract DNA, and more.
New this Fall: T.A.P.S. (To-go Alcohol in Public Spaces) allows adults 21+ to purchase a to-go beverage from participating restaurants or bars and enjoy it while strolling within designated downtown event areas, enhancing the 3rd Friday experience and supporting local businesses.
3rd Friday offers visitors an evening filled with community connection, family fun, and the unique charm of Salisbury’s small businesses.
Road Closures Begin Friday, October 17:
- Road Closures Begin at 1 P.M.
- Downtown Plaza (Main Street from W. Market Street to Division Street)
- Division Street from Rt. 50 to Circle Avenue
Parking is free in Downtown Salisbury on nights and weekends with free 2 hour on street parking — just plan ahead and avoid closed areas.
From 5 to 8 p.m., the Downtown Plaza and Unity Square will be filled with live entertainment, local vendors, and family-friendly activities. Adding to the excitement, Feet of Fire! Dance Academy will present a special spooky Halloween performance, and live music will fill the air with performances by Rachel Jayne & Friends at Unity Square and Josh Pryor on the Plaza.
“Weird Science” promises an evening full of learning, creativity, and community spirit — perfect for families, students, and anyone ready to celebrate the season downtown.
