Two new performers have been added to the lineup for next month’s OC Air Show including support from yet another branch of military service. The U.S. Coast Guard will provide a demonstration of their Search and Rescue capabilities and pilot Larry Labriola will fly a high performance demo of his L-39 Albatross Cold War era jet.
The Coast Guard will be the third branch of the U.S. military to be a part of the air show, joining the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and the U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor.
The MH-65 Dolphine helicopter from USCG Air Station Atlantic City will demonstrate one of the Coast Guard’s oldest missions and highest priorities – search and rescue. Minimizing the loss of life, injury or property damage or rendering aid to people in distress is an important part of what the Coast Guard does every day.
Also added to the line-up this week is an L-39 Turbojet, a versatile, high performance Cold War Era jet trainer made in Czechoslovakia. The L-39 will be flown by pilot Larry Labriola, who has been featured on an episode of Airplane Repo on the Discovery Channel.
“We continue to strengthen the best performer line up in OC Air Show history by adding a diversity of military and civilian acts to demonstrate the many facets of aviation.” said Bryan Lilley, president of the OC Air Show.
