Reservations are now being taken for Blues on the Bay at Macky’s in Ocean City, the annual September party that celebrates shoulder season at the resort and also raises money for a great cause, Coastal Hospice at the Ocean.
Last year, Blues on the Bay raised more than $25,500 to build Coastal Hospice at the Ocean. The campaign has reached the $3.5 million fundraising mark in its goal of $5 million.
Blues on the Bay will be held at Macky’s Bayside Bar & Grill on 54th Street bayside in Ocean City on Wednesday, Sept. 30 from 6 to 9 p.m. Singer and saxophonist Everett Spells will provide the musical entertainment, and tickets include an open bar, heavy hors d’oeuvres and a front-row view of the sunset over the bay.
Macky’s owner, Walter “Macky” Stansell, is a member of the Coastal Hospice Board of Directors and also serves on the committee raising funds to build Coastal Hospice at the Ocean.
“We urge everyone to come out, have some fun, and support a great cause,” Stansell said. “We’re close to reaching our building goal, and the Blues on the Bay evening will put us even closer.”
Coastal Hospice at the Ocean will be a state-of-the-art hospice residence and community outreach center in Berlin that will offer beds for terminally ill patients, palliative care, counseling, grief support, and community wellness programs.
Tickets to Blues on the Bay are $75 per person. Information and reservations for Blues on the Bay are available at CoastalHospice.org or by phone at 410-641-5481..
