Bryan Watson Hired as MCE’s Business Consulting Coordinator and Incubator Director

Maryland Capital Enterprises, Inc. (MCE) announced the hiring of Bryan Watson as their new Business Consulting Coordinator. He is responsible for coordinating the various business assistance efforts of the small business development non-profit on the Eastern Shore and in the Baltimore-Annapolis area. He will also direct MCE’s Incubator Without Walls project. The new SBA Women’s Business Centers, being developed by MCE in Salisbury and Baltimore, will operate under his division as well as other efforts to serve veterans, minorities, and the unemployed which are being developed.

Watson joins MCE after serving as the Assistant Tourism Manager for Wicomico County. He has experience in running multiple businesses and entrepreneurial ventures – to include founding an Arena Football team and developing a $12 million sports complex and management firm in Macon, Georgia.

In addition to working for MCE Watson serves as the Delmarva Chair for Vistage International and acts as an Adjunct Professor of Business and Sport Management for Southern New Hampshire University’s online degree program.

A Salisbury University graduate with a BA Degree in Political Science, Watson has earned a Master’s of Science Degree in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University in Miami and a MBA Degree with concentrations in finance and accounting from Columbia University in New York.

Watson has served municipalities and sports teams as a consultant working as a brand strategist for BrandThink in Charlotte, NC and working with HOK Sport in the development of ballpark and arena projects in Georgia and Greenville, South Carolina.

During his tenure in Arena Football, Watson served as the Chairman of the Finance Committee and the youngest member of the Executive Committee.  As a brand strategist he worked on engagements with the Atlanta Hawks, Phillips Arena, Charlotte Bobcats, NASCAR Member’s Club and the Tampa Bay Rays.

Established in 1998, MCE is a private nonprofit, based in Salisbury with an office in Baltimore that assists businesses to grow, create jobs and generate wealth on Maryland’s Eastern Shore and across the state. It offers small business loans and entrepreneurial education and consulting. MCE is a federally certified as a CDFl (Community Development Financial Institution) and the only micro-enterprise organization in the state of Maryland certified as an SBA, USDA, and State intermediary Lender
