On April 22, the SACC and its members joined Jean Michel Charites, owner and CEO of Caribbean Express Market in the official ribbon cutting ceremony for their new, bigger and better store!

Charites shared with us “Thank you for joining us. With the grace of God, hard work, our great associates, perseverance, and the support of the Wicomico County community we have been able to thrive.  It has not been easy; and I travel much to be able to bring the products that my customers want.  I want to say thanks to my wife who is always supporting me, and to Sindy Seraphin for her continuous help and sharing with me the many benefits of joining the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce.”

Caribbean Express Market opened in March 2001, at the much smaller store at 223 Florida Ave. With the growth of the Caribbean community in Salisbury, Charites soon realized they needed a bigger store that would be able to offer a better variety of products from Haiti, Jamaica, Latin America and Africa to satisfy their customer’s needs.  Customers can find fresh produce, a variety of grocery items, frozen ethnic products, and beauty products.

Guests sampled Haitian mushroom rice, goat, and other delicacies. Door prizes included beautiful charcuterie boxes created by Amazing Creations.

To discover all they have to offer, visit Caribbean Express Market at 226 Florida Avenue in Salisbury, MD.
