City employees will conduct an all-volunteer community cleanup in partnership with the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce’s Environmental & Beautification Committee on Saturday, November 18th, beginning at 9:00 a.m. This community cleanup effort will focus on the area immediately around Mitchell Pond on the City’s west side.

In addition to hosting community cleanups, SACC’s Environmental & Beautification Committee hosts the yearly “Stash Your Trash” competition, which focuses on reducing litter in the City by creating awareness and offering incentives to local businesses who participate in “Litter-Free Zones.”

“These 3-4 hour cleanup efforts around the City make an immediate, visible difference when they happen,” said the Mayor. “By getting organizations and volunteer groups together to remove litter and leave the neighborhood a little cleaner, the Beautification Committee is fostering community buy-in, and creating a sense of pride of ownership for our citizens who participate. City employees are proud to join in the November cleanup effort, and on behalf of all of us, I challenge all community members to join us for this rewarding project.”
