Strap on your lederhosen, dust off your stein and make your way to Downtown Cambridge on Saturday, September 27th to enjoy Crabtoberfest, an Oktoberfest-style event with an Eastern Shore spin. Held from 4-10 p.m. in downtown Cambridge at the corner of Race St. and Gay St., the evening will sport carnival-type games and a biergarten filled with craft, American, and German beers as well as authentic German fare and Eastern Shore crab dishes. Delight in German music and entertainment for an experience that is certain to leave sauerkraut on the sidewalks and polka ringing in your ears.

Be sure to arrive hungry, because you’re going to want to feast on the selection of bratwurst, knockwurst, wiener schnitzel, sauerbrauten, red cabbage, Bavarian potato salad, sauerkraut, pretzels, desserts, and more. Crab lovers can get their fill of steamed crabs, crab cakes, crab soup, and crab pretzels. Food vendors include Bay Country Bakery, Elliott’s Baking Company, High Spot Gastropub, Stoked and more Dorchester County favorites.

Come enjoy authentic German music and folkdancing, as well as play carnival-style games. Join the local fire departments, Relay teams, and other charities with a prize wheel, washers game, dime toss, cornhole, balloon pop, and others. All proceeds from these amusements directly benefit the charity hosting the game booth.

Of course, in the spirit of a true Oktoberfest, beer takes center stage. At the Crabtoberfest biergarten, you can fill your mug with your choice of premium German, American, and locally crafted beers. So, be sure to mark your calendars and head to downtown Cambridge on Saturday, September 27th for an event that is sure to be wunderbar.
