DPI Executive Director to Speak at Rotary Meeting

The Rotary Club of Salisbury is pleased to welcome to its Thursday, January 29 meeting Bill Satterfield, the Executive Director of Delmarva Poultry Industry, Inc. (DPI).  Satterfield, a member of the Rotary Club of Salisbury since 1984, will present “Chicken Industry Issues in the State of Maryland.”

Delmarva Poultry Industry, Inc. is the non-profit trade association working for the continued progress of the meat chicken industry in Delaware, on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Satterfield has been with DPI since 1986, serving as Executive Director since January 1993.  In addition to management responsibilities for the 1,800-member organization, he has spent most of his time in recent years on government relations, environmental and outreach programs.

Prior to joining DPI, he was a radio farm news reporter in Salisbury, Maryland for three years, and before that, a radio news reporter/news director in Dover, Delaware where he was born and raised.  Satterfield has also served as a reporter for WCAU radio in Philadelphia.

Before joining the Rotary Club of Salisbury Satterfield was a member of the Dover Rotary club.
