Yesterday evening, Dove Pointe in Salisbury was packed with Delmarva foodies for the 15th Annual Taste of the Town with Delmarva Eats, presented by The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, Evolution Craft Brewing Company, and Southern Boys Concepts.
Throughout the event, attendees cast their votes for their favorite dishes in each of three categories – Simple Tastes representing casual, light fare; Signature Tastes, representing upscale, more refined dishes; and Delectable Desserts, representing the crème de la crème of Delmarva desserts.
Open to the public, attendees enjoyed unlimited food samples, local craft brews, and a full bar.
For the first time in the fifteen-year history of Taste of the Town, one business took home the prize in two categories with overwhelming number of votes in the Signature Tastes and Delectable Desserts categories. Shaina Bounds and Heather Hall of the Ugly Pie were thrilled to win the Signature Tastes category with their Shepherd’s Pie and mushroom filled Vegetarian Forager’s Pies, and the Delectable Desserts category with a Coffee Buzz Tiramisu and a Strawberry Pretzel Cup.
Jo Jo’s Family Restaurant took home the prize in the Simple Taste Category with their Cream of Crab Soup and Crab Cakes, both fully loaded with jumbo lump crab. Guests were lining up for seconds and thirds of both mouthwatering crab delights!
The night was a big success, where everyone was a winner! All participating restaurants had an opportunity to showcase their specialties, and the attendees were able to try many local unique dishes all in one place.
Additional participants included Brew River Restaurant & Bar, Dinner Express, Evolution Craft Brewing Co., Green Hill Country Club, Krave. A Gluten Free Shoppe, Mad Hatter Café, Market Street Inn, Playa Bowls Salisbury, Roadie Joe’s Bar & Grill, Sobo’s Wine Beerstro, Sub Runners, and Vivian’s House – Gluten Free Bakery.

Randy Potter of Revive Sound Productions provided music and awarded dozens of lucky guests with gift cards provided by the participating restaurants.
Senator Mary Beth Carozza and Senator Johnny Mautz presented citations to the SACC and presenting sponsors Evolution Craft Brewing Co. and Southern Boys Concepts.
DELMARVA EATS is a Facebook group created by the SACC at the onset of the pandemic in an effort to support the restaurants and hospitality industry while they were striving to operate within the COVID-19 restrictions. The group provided an opportunity for local restaurants and hospitality services to inform customers on how to access their business in the ever-changing regulations imposed throughout the pandemic.

- Market Street Inn offered guests a cool, refreshing Seafood Ceviche Cucumber Cup.
- Brew River created a scrumptious Spicy Tuna on a Crispy Rice Cake.
- Dinner Express offered guests a delicious Blackened Shrimp Taco with Tropical Slaw.
- Green Hill Country Club served a unique and tasty dish of Corn Dip Tortilla Chips topped with marinated crab, pickled shallots, and jalapenos.
- Playa Bowls created a special edition Taste of the Town Bowl, a combination of a mango and coconut base, with strawberries, pineapple and honey.
- The Mad Hatter served Hot Honey Chicken & Waffles with Sausage Gravy
- Sub Runners offered hungry guests their Summer Eats & Treats menu, including a Crab Cake and a Shrimp Salad.
- Krave. A Gluten Free Bakery served up a treasure trove of delicious pound cake, a variety of cookies and brownies.
- Vivian’s House Gluten Free Bakery served scrumptious Lemon and Orange Cardamom Bundt Cakes, Chocolate Cupcakes, and a vegan blueberry Pop Tart.
- Guests could pair their food samplings with a wide variety of beer, wine and cocktails served by Presenting Sponsor Evolution Craft Brewing Company.
