Salisbury Arts & Entertainment District to host weekly concert series at Riverwalk Amphitheater

Salisbury Arts & Entertainment District is pleased to announce a free summer concert series to be held at the Pohanka Riverwalk Amphitheater this summer in Downtown Salisbury.   Friday Night Live will feature local bands in a variety of genres – all free to attend – on Fridays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. every week, with the exception of 3rd Friday weeks – when SBY’s Movies on the River will take place instead.  Attendees can enjoy the open-air concert series along Downtown Salisbury’s beautiful riverfront, complete with beer, wine, food and snacks – just bring your own lawn chair!

The concert series kicks off on June 4th with Tranzfusion and classic rock, followed by The Matthew Bennett Davey Band on June 11th with reggae, rock, funk, and blues.   On June 25th, check out Best Kept Soul for Mo-Town, Soul and R&B.  AMP Studios: Academy of Music Performance will take the stage on July 2nd, with a variety of bands put together by the Downtown Salisbury’s premiere music school.  Front Page News will bring classic rock and modern rock to center stage on July 9th, and Christine Havrilla and Gypsy Fuzz bring their unique “funk-pop-twang-rock” style on July 23rd.

Glass Onion, Delmarva’s premiere party-rock band takes the stage on July 30th, and August 6th will feature the Stephen Phillip Harvey Jazz Orchestra for a big-band experience.   Reggae fans, check out Kaleb Brown and the Roots Movement with Tuff Lion and Lion Charge on August 13th, followed by Uprizing on August 27th with funk, R&B, reggae and Top 40 hits.  September 3rd will highlight the Timmie Metz Band with rock and soul, with the series wrapping up on September 24th with local funk and jazz fusion band The Larks.

Concerts are free to attend, just bring your own lawnchair or blanket.  There will be food trucks on site, or carry-out from one of Downtown Salisbury’s amazing restaurants.  Beer, wine and water will also be available for sale.  Parking is available in the Downtown Salisbury parking garage or in the City of Salisbury Parking lots located just north of the river, all free after 5 p.m. on Fridays.  Facemasks and social distancing will not be required.

“We are so excited to bring this live music series to Downtown Salisbury, after the last year we could all use some sunshine, great music and a chance to see friends in an open-air environment” says Executive Director Jamie Heater.  The concert series is sponsored by Salisbury Arts & Entertainment District, the City of Salisbury, The Maryland State Arts Council, and Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore.  For more information visit www.salisburyartsdistrict.com/fridaynightlive.
